FOR IMMEIDATE RELEASE
Prince George, BC - The City of Prince George will be conducting an emergency water service repair at the former Crossroads location, requiring the closure of 5th Avenue between George Street and Queensway on Tuesday, January 20.
City crews have identified an active water leak and must excavate the area to allow the repairs to take place in order to prevent further infrastructure damage, potential roadway failure, and service disruptions to surrounding properties. Due to the nature of the leak, prompt excavation is necessary to ensure public safety and protect critical water infrastructure.
Water service to affected properties will be temporarily shut off beginning at 9:30 a.m. All impacted properties have been notified. Crews will work as efficiently as possible to complete repairs and restore service as soon as conditions allow.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and drive with caution near the work zone. The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews respond to this urgent infrastructure issue.
