Water service repair to close section of Carney on January 6

UPDATE: January 6, 12 p.m. 

Prince George, B.C. – The water service repair planned for January 6 will now take place on Wednesday, January 7, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to an equipment issue, work was unable to begin today. Residents are asked to respect the work zone and plan to take an alternate route during the closure of Carney Street.

Prince George, B.C. – Water service repairs will close Carney Street to vehicle traffic between 8th Avenue and 10th Avenue tomorrow, January 6, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sidewalks on the east side will remain open for pedestrians. 

The City of Prince George utilities division is working to repair infrastructure that was installed in the 1950s. Nearby properties may experience temporary water pressure changes and/or sediment in their water. Residents who will be without water during the work have been notified. 

A detour will be in place along Burden Street and Douglas Street. Motorists are asked to obey signage and drive carefully around the work zone.
