Winter recreation guide offers fun activities throughout the community

Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George launched its winter 2025/26 Community Association Recreation Guide this morning. 

The guide provides residents of all ages with a selection of exciting activities to stay busy through the winter months. Thanks to local community association programmers and volunteers, the guide includes: 

  • Sports such as pickleball, floor hockey, basketball, soccer, and volleyball
  • Fitness programs such as yoga, seniors in motion, bootcamp, and Zumba
  • Activities such as bird watching, chess, Lego, quilting, and astronomy
  • Courses such as mini-chefs, home alone, babysitting, and women’s self-defense 

Prince George community associations provide recreation opportunities throughout the community, offering programs in school gyms, fields, and parks. Community association volunteers also manage the City’s outdoor ice rinks. These associations include: 

  • Beaverly West Leisure Society
  • Blackburn Community Association
  • College Heights Community Association
  • Hart Community Association
  • South Bowl Community Association
  • West Bowl Community Association

Participants can register for any program, regardless of which neighbourhood they live in. View the winter recreation guide on the City website for more information about how to register. Most programs begin in January.
