UPDATE 7 P.M. – The fire has now been extinguished but Prince George Fire Rescue crews will remain on site to monitor the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
First Avenue will stay closed overnight between Carney Street and Victoria Street, with the road expected to open at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Prince George BC – On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at approximately 5 a.m., Prince George Fire Rescue Crews responded to a structure fire at 1922, First Avenue (The Nechako Bottle Depot).
Nineteen crew from four halls arrived at a fully involved structure fire with heavy smoke and flames.
Currently crews have controlled the fire and are working to complete extinguishment. No known occupants and no injuries to firefighters or the public.
Damages and cause of fire are yet to be determined, and First Avenue will be closed between Carney Street and Victoria Street until further notice.
