FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UPDATE: 6 p.m. - At approximately 11:55 a.m. on December 4, 2025, Prince George Fire Rescue crews from four halls responded to the 1500 block of Queensway to a high-rise commercial structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke conditions from the 11th floor of the structure. Firefighters quickly initiated suppression efforts and successfully contained the fire to a single suite. The fire did not extend to neighboring units thanks to rapid and coordinated response from all crews on scene.
Estimated loss is undetermined at this time and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries have been reported from the fire. Emergency support services (ESS) has been activated and is on site to provide assistance to all affected occupants. 18 people have registered for ESS at this time.

Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire at 1501 Queensway shortly after 12 p.m. on December 4. The fire was contained to a small number of units, however smoke and water damage is yet to be determined. It is unknown how many residents of the building are impacted at this time. City staff activated the emergency operations centre (EOC) and emergency support services (ESS) to support those who are displaced.
Queensway between 17th Avenue and Patricia Boulevard is closed to traffic. Residents are asked to avoid the area if possible, follow directions of traffic control, and give crews space to work.
