Prince George, B.C. – On August 5 at approximately 8:45 p.m., Prince George Fire Rescue crews from four halls responded to a commercial structure fire in the 3900 block of Kenworth Road.

First arriving crews found a large commercial building partially involved in fire. The fire took several hours to extinguish using a ladder truck as well as handlines and master streams from other apparatus.

The fire caused extensive damage to the building, resulting in a loss of approximately $1.9 million. The quick actions of firefighters prevented damage to nearby vehicles and buildings.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation. 

There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel at this incident.
